A
personal note about my artwork and
some of the terminology used on this site
Thank you for
taking the time to look at my artwork. I am pleased to be able to
offer it to you. Buying artwork is a personal experience and you
should buy what speaks to you. You should also be aware of what you
are buying. I wanted to explain some of the terms used on this site
that are often misused elsewhere. I want you to know exactly what
you are getting when you purchase my artwork.
One
of a Kind (OOAK) Halloween Folk Art
One of a kind
means -- the item is the ONLY one like it -- It means I will not
make another just like it -- It means, you have the only one and no
one else will have one. One of a kind is often used by some artists
when they mean hand painted -- Real OOAK work is more than hand
painted -- it is a commitment by the artist that the item you
purchase is and will always be the only one of its kind.
Original
Design
Original Design means
-- The design of or on the item is original to the artist. It means
I thought it up and created it. My OOAK items by nature are
original designs, but not all of my original designs are one of a
kind. They are, however, still hand made by me individually. There
are no mass produced items on this site. Many artists use vintage
images like those found on old post cards and call them original
designs -- and while these images may now be public domain, they
should not be considered ORIGINAL DESIGNS.
Hand
Painted
The artwork is not printed on paper and then glued on! It is
REAL painting -- All the work is done freehand - that
means, I sit down with my brush and just start painting. No
sketches, no
stencils, no paint pens & no markers - just me painting!
